On 13 May 2016, a conference of the “Philia” Association for Cultural and Business Cooperation and Friendship with the Peoples of Greece and Cyprus took place at the Moscow House of Nationalities.

The conference was held by Mr. Georgiy Muradov, President of

the “Philia” Association and chairman of the Board of the Cyprus-Russia Friendship Society. In his report, Mr. Muradov focused on the work carried out by the “Philia” Association in 2013–2016 to promote relations between Russia and Cyprus. Mr. Andrei Vdovin, chairman of the Russia-Greece Society of Friendship, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, delivered a report on the Society’s activities aimed at developing cooperation between Russia and Greece.

Among those who took part in the conference was archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, secretary for inter-Orthodox relations of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations. Fr. Igor Yakimchuk was elected member of the Board of the “Philia” Association of Cultural and Business Cooperation and Friendship with the Peoples of Greece and Cyprus.
