Ecumenical Patriarch to be admitted to hospital for possible stent placement

ecumenical xyzFollowing the results of a check-up at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, as well as consultations with doctors, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will be admitted to the hospital later this afternoon for an angiogram that will evaluate the need for stent placement.

The announcement from the Archdiocese of America stated that the results of the medical examination were “very satisfactory”, and in fact the Ecumenical Patriarch and his entourage were to leave New York for Constantinople by private plane.

However, a new announcement states that after the results of the check-up at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, the Ecumenical Patriarch will be admitted to the hospital later this afternoon for angiography, where the need for a stent will be assessed.

The Archdiocese of America in a post on social media a while ago, posted a photo of the Ecumenical Patriarch who arrived at the Archdiocese building to have breakfast with the Hierarchs.
