Si è chiusa nella serata di ieri, ad Amman in Giordania, l’assemblea della Conferenza episcopale dei vescovi latini delle regini arabe (Celra). Due giorni di lavoro per preparare il Sinodo dei vescovi per il Medio Oriente che si terrà in Vaticano dal 10 al 24 ottobre 2010 sul tema, “La Chiesa Cattolica nel Medio Oriente: comunione e testimonianza”. In undici, tra vescovi e vicari, hanno discusso, sotto la presidenza del patriarca latino di Gerusalemme, Fouad Twal, sull’identità e testimonianza della chiesa latina in Medio Oriente, nell’attuale situazione politica, e su come questa vive in comunione con la più ampia Chiesa cattolica mediorientale e in relazione con musulmani, ebrei e le altre denominazioni cristiane. Secondo quanto appreso dal Sir, i vescovi stanno redigendo la versione finale delle loro risposte alle domande contenute nei Lineamenta. The Episcopal Conference of the Latin Bishops of the Arab Regions (Celra) met in Amman from Tuesday morning, March 2 until Wednesday evening, March 3, in order to prepare for the upcoming Synod of the Catholic Church in the Middle East that will be held in Vatican in October 2010 (10-24) on “The Catholic Church in the Middle East: communion and witness". The eleven member Bishops' Conference convened in Amman, under the presidency of His Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal, discussed on the identity and witness of the Latin Church in the Middle East as well as on how the Latin Church lives communion with the wider Catholic Church in the Middle East and in relationship with other Christians as well as with Muslims and with Jews as well as within the present political situation. As SIR learned, the Bishops are at present formulating the final version of their responses to the Lineamenta (Guidelines) document that was published with questions to be answered in order to prepare for the Synod.
